Truly Scrumptious Challenge # 29-Fly Away

Hello and Happy Wednesday! Wow.....it's almost Easter already? Time is sure flying by. :o)
This week we have a fabby sketch for the Truly Scrumptious challenge, and we also have the added, optional challenge of adding the theme "fly away"
So here is the sketch:
I used a super cute Tilda holding a bee image...I got her from The Magnolia-licious Store...and I just LOVE her! I colored her in with my copics. copics I used for her clothes are here:(r81/83/85; bg11/32/34; e40/41/42/43/44)
The paper is CratePaper:Paper Dolls, and so are the brads and stickers.
The butterflies are Martha Stewart.
The sentiment are Close To My Heart: Card Chatter.
I also used some doodlebug chunky glitter on the bee's wings.
I think that's about it!
Have a fabby day!

TRuly Scrumptious Challenge #27-Good Enough to Eat!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!
This week for the Truly Scrumptious Challenge #27, we have a yummy sketch, by the talented Dawn and the added challenge of "good enough to eat!"
Easy peasy! I LOVE adding cupcakes and cakes to my cards!
First here is the sketch for this challenge:

I used one of my old time faves-Giggling Tilda. You can get her from Magnolia-licious.
The paper and ric rac are brand new My Mind's Eye-Quite Contrary. Yummy!
The pearl flourishes are Basic Grey
Half back pearls and crochet flowers are CTMH

The cake plate, cupcake and sentiment are Darcie stamps. So yummy and fun!
I first stamped Tilda, and then I made a mask of her and then stamped the cake plate over part of Tilda {with the mask firmly in place with repositional tombow adhesive}
Then I used the out of the box technique with my nesties so Tilda's sweet head can pop up above the frame.
I also airbrushed the backgrounds. So fun!

Make sure you pop on over to the Truly Scrumptious blog to see what the other designer's created!
Thanks for stopping by today!

You're too kind

Hello and Happy Stamping!
I actually squeezed in a card midweek this week! Crazy! The last few months I've been barely getting my design team work done.....it's nice to be able to find a few extra hours to make an extra card.
Anyways, I started making this card for some design work due next week...but I kept tweeking the sketch until I finally ended up with a card that was a little too far from the original sketch.
Love this Tilda image! I got it from the Magnolia-licious site HERE...it really is the best place to get these adorable images! I colored Tilda in with my copics.
The cupcake is from a set I purchased from my LSS-with my 35% off coupon...gotta LOVE those! The set is called Big Cake Set and it is A Darcies Stamp set....check them out HERE
I colored in the cupcake with Copics and then I added some chunky doodlebug sugar coating to it-yummy!

The paper is We R Memory Keepers-Twirl
The sentiment is SU! And if you are from Canada you can get it HERE. Shelly is a good friend of mine that I've know for a couple of decades and she is a SU! demonstrator.
I made a mask for Tilda and then airbrushed the background.
The nestie shape is BRAND NEW...and I love it! It's called the Big Scalloped Square-I have both the small and large size sets. The new 2010 spring spellbinders are so awesome-can't wait to save up my $ and get some more!
The flowers are prima and the brads are basic grey.
I found some new bling flourishes at Michael's Craft store-they are a bit cheaper than the prima brand. They are Michael's brand-Recollections. The flourishes are actually perfect for cards because the swirls are smaller-very easy to cut up. I also was able to use a coupon on them-I think it was 30% off my entire purchase so they were less than a 1.50 each! Yummy!

Thanks for stopping by today...have a nice day!

Happy Birthday Truly Scrumptious!

Happy Wednesday and Happy Birthday Truly Scrumptious!
Can you believe it's been a whole year already! It's been so fun and so rewarding being a designer for Truly Scrumptious. :o)
The Truly Scrumptious challenge # 26 is to make a Birthday card and also use the sketch that Sharon created. Here it is:

Isn't it just so fabby?
I made this cute bday card for my niece who turns 7 on March 27th.
So I used one of my favorite images form the Magnolia Winter 2009 kit.
I colored her in with my copics.
I also used a Hero Arts cupcake stamp and a MFT sentiment stamp. I stamped the cupcake twice and then cut out the second heart and pop dotted it onto the first one. I also added some doodlebug sugar coating chunky style-LOVE that stuff!
Brads and paper are Basic Grey-Sugar Rush, bling is prima.
The ribbon is from The Truly Scrumptious Crafts store-HERE.

Well, thanks for stopping by today....make sure you check out the Truly Scrumptious blog-HERE to see what the other designer's came up with!

By for now,

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #24-All Sewn up!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!
So today's card is for this week's Truly Scrumptious challenge.
Sharon was so sweet to use the sketch I made for the challenge-plus she wants us to add some stitching.
Well, of course I encountered some technical difficulties with my stubborn 35 year old singer sewing machine....so I had to settle for faux stitching instead. Luckily Close To My Heart has an awesome "stitches" stamp set, that I totally LOVE!

Both images I used are Magnolia, and I got them from Magnolia-lici0us! The absolutely BEST place to get Magnolia stamps. Diana, the owner is so sweet and she really does offer the BEST service. A lot of other stamp companies cater to the design team...but Diane really makes her customers the focus. :o)
I colored in Giggling Tilda and the Kitchen Bench with my copics and then air brushed the background. I pop dotted the bench and Tilda.
The paper is BoBunny-Kitchen Spice and so are the buttons are flowers.
The bling is prima
The brads are CTMH
The sentiment is MFT, stamped is CTMH Cocoa ink
My faux stitching is below the sentiment; stamped in cocoa ink as well.
Oh and here is the sketch for the challenge:

Make sure you check out the other designer's cards HERE, and have a fabby day!

No Tilda-Just her Kitty and a couple of friends

Hello and Happy Friday....wow was that a short week! The kids went back to school yesterday so it made this week fly by.
I made today's card for a childhood friend. A friend whose birth date I swear I will never forgot. She helped me get through the rough early adolescent years. Her name was Lisa-but she later changed her name to Liz-she'll always be Lisa to me.

Anyways, I used a few magnolia images. The birds and cat are Tilda's friends. :o) I love these little images-they are so adorable-I usually use them all together.
The flowers and pots are brand new from Close To My Heart.
The sentiment is MFT
Images are colored in with copics and I also used a bit of stickles here and there
The paper is Basic Grey-Sugar Rush. My new favorite this season. Buttons and brads are also from the same collection.
The ribbon is from my stash.
I also want to share with you a brand new "gadget" I found at Michael's during the boxing week sale. It's called the Mini Bowdabra. I was getting tired of my signature ribbon "knots" and wanted to try something different-but I suck at free hand bows. Then I found this little "machine". I got it with my 50% off coupon-so it was well under $10. It makes the cutest little bows, and it's so easy to use! I just love it and can't wait to make more cute bows with it!

Anyways, thanks for stopping by today.
See you in a couple days for the Dottie's Challenge-I'm hosting this week. I created my first ever sketch!

Happy Birthday

Hello. :o)
I am so happy to be able to share with you another card this week.
I was busy cleaning my house the whole morning and then I snuck into my scraproom in the afternoon to work on a card...life is good-calm and peaceful.
I made this card for my Oma-she turns 90 on January 2nd.
I really wanted to make this card special...so I added lots of layers and lots of details.
Here are the complete details:
The Image is a brand new Tilda from the Winter 2009 collection. I just love her with her hands in her pockets!
The cake stamps in the background are BRAND new from CTMH....the stamp set is called: Piece of Cake and it's the February 2010 stamp of the month. It has six whimsical cakes and four sentiments....perfect for birthday's and celebrations.
Anyways,
I colored in all my images with copics. I also added some sparkle with clear spica pens here and there and stickles.
The paper is Basic Grey-Nook & Pantry
Flowers and bling are Prima
Buttons are a mix of SU! and CTMH
Ribbon is also SU!
The pearls are CTMH
The sentiment is stamped in Cocoa and is MFT
I also used a Martha Stewart border punch and a few different nesties.
The dot embossing is made using the cuttlebug swiss dots folder....love that thing!

Thanks for stopping by-have a fabby....geesh-what day is it?
Monday ....no it's already Tuesday!

Cheers!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #22

Hello and Happy Wednesday. :o)
It's another Truly Scrumptious Challenge-the last one for the year 2009.....yikes. Is time flying by or is it just me?
For the TS Challenge #22 we have another fabby sketch of course.
Here it is:

The added challenge is to use vellum as well. I haven't used vellum in a long time. But it gave me a chance to play with a white stazon ink pad that my stampin' buddy Shelly gave me for my bday. Thanks Shell ;O). I stamped white snowflakes onto the vellum-it turned out great.
Here are the rest of the details for today's card:
Paper is CTMH-Aspen
The image is a new Tilda from the Jolly 2009 collection. I colored her in with my copics and I also used spica clear and gold pens-love that soft sparkle you can create with those.
The paper flowers and bling are prima. The sentiment is CTMH-stamped in Twilight.

Thanks for stopping by today and make sure you check out the Truly Scrumptious site to see what the other designers came up with-and enter the challenge! This week's prize is hosted by Whimsy Stamps. :o)

MIA?....not quite-but here is my TS Challenge #21

Hello. ;o)
Long time no post. I've been semi-missing in action.
a couple of weeks ago my hubby surprised me with a fabby shopping trip in Chicago-my new favorite US city. And then upon our return, he asked me to help him set up an HR dept. for our small manufacturing company. Or should I say...become the HR department...lol anyways, I've been working hard helping him out.

I missed a couple of my DT challenges...which makes me sooooo sad. So I promised myself that I would get the cards done-even if they were late. So here is the card I made for the TS challenge #21. I especially wanted to complete this card bc I LOVE the sketch. If you don't already do TS challenges-you should stop by and check it out! We have the BEST sponsors who always offer the cutest stamps/digi's to the winner of the challenge!
Debbie-our GD made the fabby sketch and asked us to add a bling flourish.....:o)))
Here is the fabby sketch:

Here are the complete details for my card:
The paper is My Mind's Eye-Bloom and Grow
The image is Magnolia and colored in with copics. I also used a clear spica copic pen on Tilda's hair for a bit of soft luster. You can't see it in the photo but it looks really pretty on the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabby Friday. ;o)

I really love this card...it took me forever to make! :o}
There are so many different elements/layers to it.
The paper is BoBunny-Kitchen Spice, and so are the buttons and brads
The image is a Tilda, colored in with my copics.
Bling is prima
I also used a couple of border punches....one is MS and the other is SU! Geesh that SU! scallop border punch is such an essential tool...love it!
The sentiment "recipe", and rolling pin that Tilda is sitting on are also magnolia stamps along with the frame stamp...the True Friend sentiment is Close To My Heart.
The white "scalloped" ribbon was Making Memories from a few years ago-I was glad to finally put it to good use!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a fabby Thursday!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #20-Sketch & Texture

It is also Remembrance Day here in Canada...a time to remember all of those who fought for
our freedom, and protection. Please take a moment today to think about all of the courageous soldiers, who helped make Canada the country it is today.

It is Wednesday today and another Truly Scrumptious challenge.
This week's challenge is a sketch by the awesome and so very sweet Dawn.
Here is her sketch:
Sharon has asked that we also add some texture to our cards.
I hate to be a whiner but I had a very hard time photographing this card. :o} Even with my new light box...the colors in the card were causing me a lot of grief!
The card in real life is very pretty, the colors in the paper are very vibrant.
Anyways,
here are the details:
Paper is Basic Grey-Indian Summer
I used a new Martha Stewart border punch-love her new releases!!
I also used rectangle and circle nesties
The sentiment is CTMH-stamped in chocolate and tulip
The brads are CTMH
The fiber, called Sassy Strands is also CTMH

Thanks for looking and make sure you check out the TS blog so you can see what all the other designer's came up with!

TRuly Scrumptious Challenge #19-Sketch & Recipe

Hello and welcome back to another Truly Scrumptious challenge! I missed last week and didn't want to miss another week so I got this card done several days ago. Felt good to get it done early.
The TS Challenge #19 is a sketch and recipe. Here is the fabby sketch:

Of course I tweaked it into a 6x6. :o)
The recipe is as follows:
3 flowers/3 rhinestones/3 brads
Easy Peasy!
I must tell you that I LOVE this card. I just love how it turned out...but it really didn't photograph very well...the picture really doesn't do it justice. Oh well. :o}

I used my absolutely favorite Holiday paper this year-Basic Grey:Eskimo Kisses. Even the name is down right adorable!
The image is Edwin and Tilda skating...I just love this image to pieces
I colored in the image with my copics
The sentiment stamp is Close To My Heart, I also added some stickles to the sentiment to make it pop a bit.
I used my rectangle nesties and my snowflake shapeabilites both by spellbinders. I airbrushed the snowflakes
I also added some Prima Bling flourishes
Now to explain how I used the recipe:
I used SU! Sparkle Brads-Rhinestones and Brads in one! :o)
I also decided to use snowflakes instead of flowers....cause snowflakes are like winter flowers right? hehe

Make sure you check out the TS challenge blog to see what the other designer's came up with; and have a fabby Wednesday!

Friday Sketchers #73

I actually found some more time to stamp...well my house is really suffering but it's all worth it right?
I made tis card for this week's friday sketchers...I haven't completed one of those in a LOOOONG time!
Here is the sketch:
I recently purchased 250 6x6 envelopes so every card I make MUST be 6x6. :o) So I had to alter the sketch a tad.
Tilda is another image from my Fall Kit-isn't she just so sweet sitting there with her little necklace and high ponty tail?
Paper is BoBunny-Kitchen Spice...and so are the brads & brown sparkles
I made this flowers with my sizzix layered flower die.
The sentiment is Close To My Heart-Annotations
The bling is Prima
I also distressed everything with some CTMH Chocolate ink with my little dauber.
I added some distress stickles to Tilda's necklace and bracelet

Seize The Cupcake!

Hello and Happy Friday. ;o)
Things have been very busy around here....I've been working part time for my husband doing some book work and I took on homeschooling too this year for my three youngest. Then my mom went on holidays for two weeks and asked me to do her payroll while she is away....well, needless to say I was craving some "real" time alone in my scrap room!
As soon as I finished the work for my mom I snuck into my scraproom.... I hope to sneak in a few more cards this weekend.
Anywho....I LOVE this card and am so excited to share it with you.

The papers I used are BoBunny -Kitchen Spice. I LOVE this paper! The flowers, brads and buttons are also from the same collection....gotta have the matching embellies!
The Tilda stamp is from my fall kit-Yummy in my Tummy. You gotta love Tilda with her huge wooden spoon! I colored her in with my copics and I also airbrushed the background. I cut Tilda out and pop dotted her.

The sentiment and cupcake are....unknown...maybe hero arts. The sentiment is stamped on another Magnolia image from my fall kit.
I added some stickles here and there for extra sparkle
The ribbon is Close To My Heart and the bling is Prima.
I used the sketch from last week's Friday Sketchers.....I was a day too late to enter it but I still wanted to post it. Here is the sketch:

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great stamp filled weekend!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #17-Doodles

Hello and Happy Wednesday!
Well, I've had a crazy last few days!
We have suffered a small dose of the flu here-well 3 of four of us anyways. So I was out of commission yesterday...but not to worry I had my TS #17 challenge all done and ready to post on Sunday...:o)
Until this morning when I realized I hadn't completed it right!! lol
Our sponsor for this week is the Sketching Stamper; and she very generously gave all of us designer's some brand new images to use on this challenge....:o) Well, to make a long story short I had to redo my whole card and redo my whole post......hhhmmmmm
So I was busy busy busy trying to get it finished on time!
The very awesome Sharon hosted this challenge and she created this gorgeous sketch for us to use:

She also wants us to add some doodling....yikes! I'm terrible with my free hand!
I'm not very happy with how my doodling turned out but oh well!

I used one of the beautiful images that the Sketching Stamper gave us. It reminds me of my two older daughters.
I colored in the image with copics. I colored in the blonde girl's shirt with BG72 and then shaded with BG75 and then I took my blender pen and made the diagonal check design-LOVE that technique! I really love how my coloring turned out on this image.

I made the paper flowers with my sizzix-thanks to the inspiration from my fellow TS designer Michele. ;o)
I also airbrushed around my images...LOVE that look!
The sentiments are all Close To My Heart
The paper is Jingle Bells by Close To My Heart

Okay so I didn't just want to leave my original card on my desk collecting dust...so here it is. ;o) Enjoy.....

Paper: Close To My Heart -Grace
Image: Magnolia-Fall 2009 Kit
Ribbon and Doodle stamps are Close To My Heart
I airbrushed the paper flowers (they were originally white) with four different colors
The leaves are made using my cricut and are also airbrushed
The sentiments are Close To My Heart

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #16

Hello and happy Wednesday!
I can't believe it is another Truly Scrumptious challenge again! Wow!
Anywho, this weeks TS challenge is a fabby sketch by Heather. And Heather also wants us to use three or more stamps on our card...not including a sentiment. :o)
What a fun challenge!
Here is Heather's Sketch:

What a fabby sketch :o)
So I was going to stamp a Tilda or two and add in a stamped tree or house...but I decided to do something different. I decided to use three different stamps and make my own patterned paper. I stamped two flower stamps, that I colored in with my copics and then I also stamped the "rings" in chocolate ink. I also stamped my Tilda and colored her in with my copics.
I used my airbrush system to color in the flower that Tilda is standing against
Cardstock is Close To My Heart-Buttercup/Chocolate
Flowers are Bazzill
Chipboard buttons and Ribbon are also Close To My Heart

Make sure you check out the Truly Scrumptious Blog to see what the other designers came up with!
Thanks for stopping by,

Happy :o)

Hello. :o)
I made this super cute card for my God mother for her birthday....and I just realized that I forgot to make the bday sentiment for it. ;o) lol I guess I need to go back to my scrap room and finish it!
Anyways, the Tilda is from my Summer Kit....I hope my fall kit arrives soon....:o(...I feel like the only one who's fall kit hasn't arrived yet! Patience is not one of my virtues!
Tilda is colored in with copics
The paper I used is Citrus-K&Company
The flowers are prima and the buttons are CTMH
The little dragonflys are from my bloggin' friend, and creator of The Truly Scrumptious Challenge blog... Sharon-thanks Sharon!
The ribbon is from my stash and the brads are CTMH
I think that's it. :o)
I best be off now, thanks for stopping by!

Another Post this week!;o)

Wow I can't believe I was able to make another card this week! Where did I find the time? :o)
Anywho...I did and here are the details for todays card:
Paper is DCWV-Citrus Stack
Filigree and crystal brads are SU!
Flowers are from my LSS
The metal flowers are from my bloggin' buddy Kelly
The sentiment is from Close To My Heart
The image is Magnolia and is from my copic buddy Michelle.

I must tell you that the orange on the umbrella is driving me crazy! lol My friend Michelle had stamped this image for me on her favorite CS which is different from the one I normally use. I love it-it works really nicely with copics but the colors turn out a bit different on this paper. Of course I colored in the umbrella last and when I realized it wasn't really a close match to the paper I was crushed...lol but it was the only copy I had of this adorable image, so I decided to just follow through and fisnish it anyways...... :o)

The other thing that was driving me crazy was my watermark....geesh I worked on it for at least 10 minutes and couldn't get it to work....so it's really tiny and red! lol

I also wanted to tell you....I was working on this card while my daughter (she's 5) was sitting beside me working on her card.
She said to me "why did you leave those spots white?" (pointing to Tilda's boots/umbrella and jacket) and I said "because that's where the sun shines on her jacket and her umbrella and shoes" and she replied: "mommy the sun doesn't shine in the rain" .....:o)

Oh well Thanks for looking and have a super day!
Nicole M Bailey
