Destress With Some Distressing

Hello and Happy Stamping!
I am hosting this week's Dottie's World and I have asked for some distressing on your card, along with a charmed download of course. :o)
For this card I used Holly In The Garden and you can get it HERE
I colored Holly in with my copics.
The paper is brand new My Mind's Eye from the Quite Contrary Collection-Mary Mary and so is the LUSH ribbon. I am loving this new collection from MME....it's so yummy! Especially the new line of ribbons-sooooo yummy and lush!

For my distressing I used my Close To My Heart Edge Distresser
link

It's super affordable and so effective.

Everything is pretty much the same as usual...:oP
Have a Fabby Sunday-make sure you take some time for yourself !
And check out the Dottie's World blog to see what all the other designer's came up with for this week's "Distressed Out" challenge!

You're too kind

Hello and Happy Stamping!
I actually squeezed in a card midweek this week! Crazy! The last few months I've been barely getting my design team work done.....it's nice to be able to find a few extra hours to make an extra card.
Anyways, I started making this card for some design work due next week...but I kept tweeking the sketch until I finally ended up with a card that was a little too far from the original sketch.
Love this Tilda image! I got it from the Magnolia-licious site HERE...it really is the best place to get these adorable images! I colored Tilda in with my copics.
The cupcake is from a set I purchased from my LSS-with my 35% off coupon...gotta LOVE those! The set is called Big Cake Set and it is A Darcies Stamp set....check them out HERE
I colored in the cupcake with Copics and then I added some chunky doodlebug sugar coating to it-yummy!

The paper is We R Memory Keepers-Twirl
The sentiment is SU! And if you are from Canada you can get it HERE. Shelly is a good friend of mine that I've know for a couple of decades and she is a SU! demonstrator.
I made a mask for Tilda and then airbrushed the background.
The nestie shape is BRAND NEW...and I love it! It's called the Big Scalloped Square-I have both the small and large size sets. The new 2010 spring spellbinders are so awesome-can't wait to save up my $ and get some more!
The flowers are prima and the brads are basic grey.
I found some new bling flourishes at Michael's Craft store-they are a bit cheaper than the prima brand. They are Michael's brand-Recollections. The flourishes are actually perfect for cards because the swirls are smaller-very easy to cut up. I also was able to use a coupon on them-I think it was 30% off my entire purchase so they were less than a 1.50 each! Yummy!

Thanks for stopping by today...have a nice day!

Dottie's World Challenge-It's a Small Thing

Hello and Happy Sunday. :o)
I worked really hard this weekend trying to get ahead on all my design work. aaahhhhh feels good to get ahead for once!
This week Lou set the challenge over at Dottie's World...
here is what she asked for:

"Hello Folks, Louise here,
This week I want you to think small, I'd like you to use your Charmed download on a project that is smaller than that which you would normally make.
I won't give any specific dimensions, just think dinky (small :)).......This should be fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with xxxx"

Okay so I tried to go really really really small but it was hard to use my copics on super small images. So I made my card 4x4...which is a lot smaller than my normal 6x6. :o) I hope that works Lou!
The Charmed Download image I used is from the Sugar & Spice collection and you can get it HERE.
I opened the image in Photoshop and then I cropped it (without saving) around the flower part of the image. Then I printed it and used my sizzix/nesties to cut it out in a circle shape.
I also made a mask and then airbrushed a sky background with my airbrush system....LOVE LOVE LOVE my airbrush system!
The paper is October Afternoon-Farm Fresh. I picked it up yesterday at my LSS-they are clearing out a bunch of their paper to make room for new stuff. I got some great deals on paper!
The flower is prima and so is the bling flourish.
The brads are Basic Grey
I made the sentiment on my computer with the font :"Baby Bowser". I printed it off onto vellum paper.

I think that's about it for now-thanks for stopping by. Make sure you head over to the Dottie's World Challenge blog to see what my fellow designer's came up with for this challenge.

Bye for now,

Dottie's World Challenge-Hearts

Hello and Happy Thursday!
Well, I'm several days late posting this card. I hate that I've been late with a few challenges lately. Life has been extremely hectic lately...and unfortunately anything that has anything to do with {{me}} comes second/third/fourth/fifith.....
cry, cry sniffle sniffle.
Anyways, Gunn, my bloggin/designer friend is hosting this week's DW challenge and she wants us to add hearts to our card, and add some doodling; along with a charmed download.
It's late...but it's completed!
I made this card for my 14 year old daughter who is returning home this evening from a four day school trip...her first time away from home. I can't wait to see her at the airport tonight!!!
I used Holly on the High Street and you can get her HERE
I colored her in with my copics.
I used Basic Grey-Sugar Rush paper-LOTS of hearts on there!!
The cut outs and brads are also BG-Sugar Rush
Paper flowers and bling are prima
The sentiment is from the $1.50 bin at Michael's....gotta love those!
For the doodling part...the paper had LOTS of doodling on it so I hope that counts-I'm so terrible at free handing-I didn't want to mess up my card. :o}

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you check out the other designer's cards HERE for inspiration!

Happy Birthday Truly Scrumptious!

Happy Wednesday and Happy Birthday Truly Scrumptious!
Can you believe it's been a whole year already! It's been so fun and so rewarding being a designer for Truly Scrumptious. :o)
The Truly Scrumptious challenge # 26 is to make a Birthday card and also use the sketch that Sharon created. Here it is:

Isn't it just so fabby?
I made this cute bday card for my niece who turns 7 on March 27th.
So I used one of my favorite images form the Magnolia Winter 2009 kit.
I colored her in with my copics.
I also used a Hero Arts cupcake stamp and a MFT sentiment stamp. I stamped the cupcake twice and then cut out the second heart and pop dotted it onto the first one. I also added some doodlebug sugar coating chunky style-LOVE that stuff!
Brads and paper are Basic Grey-Sugar Rush, bling is prima.
The ribbon is from The Truly Scrumptious Crafts store-HERE.

Well, thanks for stopping by today....make sure you check out the Truly Scrumptious blog-HERE to see what the other designer's came up with!

TRuly Scrumptious Challenge #25-Buttons and Ribbons!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!
This week for the Truly Scrumptious Challenge blog we have a fabby sketch and an extra challenge of adding buttons and ribbons to your card.
Sharon the owner of the Truly Scrumptious Challenge blog also has her own online embellishment store. It's called Truly Scrumptious Crafts and you can check it out HERE.
Her store is sponsoring this week's challenge...so the winner of this challenge will win a button and ribbon kit....so super cute!
Sharon was so generous to give all of the design team members free ribbon and botton kits to use on this week's challenge!
I received the Spring Kit.
Pictured here:

Lots of fun stuff to play with!
Here is the sketch for this week's challenge:
Isn't is fabby?
Okay so on to my card. ;o)

I used some old paper-from the DCWV-Nana's Nursery stack.
The adorable image is Whipper Snapper and you can find it HERE.
I colored in the image with my copics.
The heart charm/buttons and ribbon are all from The Truly Scrumptious Crafts
The Congratulations sentiment is CTMH-stamped in Sweet Leaf ink
I also did machine stitching....I'm a tad bit rusty-haven't used my darn sewing machine in a while...but I do still love the look of machine stitching on cards.
