Truly Scrumptious Challenge # 30-April Showers

Hello and Happy Wednesday...the week is almost over again.....yikes life is flying by.
It's The Truly Scrumptious Challenge #30 this week...we have another fabby sketch by Mina and an additional, optional, challenge of "April Showers" theme, which is kinda funny for me because I live in Alberta, Canada-and we don't experience April Showers here....we experience April Flurries....seriously it's snowing right now.
Here is the sketch that our very own, very talented Mina created:

OKay so here are the details for today's card:
Paper is Close To My Heart-Caboodle-love this paper, it's so cute for kid's cards.
The image is Whipper Snapper, colored in with copics.
The flowers and tiny tabs are also Close To My Heart.
The buttons are Making Memories
I also did some machine stitching....I have to tell you I lOVE machine stitching on cards-it just finishes any card beautifully. :o)
Well I think thats about it.....make sure you check out the Truly Scrumptious Challenge blog to see what the other designer's came up with and you should play along with us this week-there is a super cute Pink Gems Designs image:

I'm actually in Oklahoma this week with my sister...she's on spring break.
This week's challenge is another fabby sketch, with the added challenge of a quilted background. I really wanted to machine stitch each square but I'm having problems with my swing machine. :o(
Here is the fabby sketch:

The paper is brand new from Close To My Heart-Top Stitched. Isn't is adorable? Ribbon is Heavenly Blue CTMH.
The image and sentiment stamps are also Close To My Heart. The paper flowers are also brand new and Close To My Heart. Love them!
The bling is Prima and the fabby felt flowers are SU!

I think thats about it for now. Make sure you head over to the TS blog to see what all the other designer's came up with!

TRuly Scrumptious Challenge #27-Good Enough to Eat!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!
This week for the Truly Scrumptious Challenge #27, we have a yummy sketch, by the talented Dawn and the added challenge of "good enough to eat!"
Easy peasy! I LOVE adding cupcakes and cakes to my cards!
First here is the sketch for this challenge:

I used one of my old time faves-Giggling Tilda. You can get her from Magnolia-licious.
The paper and ric rac are brand new My Mind's Eye-Quite Contrary. Yummy!
The pearl flourishes are Basic Grey
Half back pearls and crochet flowers are CTMH

The cake plate, cupcake and sentiment are Darcie stamps. So yummy and fun!
I first stamped Tilda, and then I made a mask of her and then stamped the cake plate over part of Tilda {with the mask firmly in place with repositional tombow adhesive}
Then I used the out of the box technique with my nesties so Tilda's sweet head can pop up above the frame.
I also airbrushed the backgrounds. So fun!

Make sure you pop on over to the Truly Scrumptious blog to see what the other designer's created!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Birthday Truly Scrumptious!

Happy Wednesday and Happy Birthday Truly Scrumptious!
Can you believe it's been a whole year already! It's been so fun and so rewarding being a designer for Truly Scrumptious. :o)
The Truly Scrumptious challenge # 26 is to make a Birthday card and also use the sketch that Sharon created. Here it is:

Isn't it just so fabby?
I made this cute bday card for my niece who turns 7 on March 27th.
So I used one of my favorite images form the Magnolia Winter 2009 kit.
I colored her in with my copics.
I also used a Hero Arts cupcake stamp and a MFT sentiment stamp. I stamped the cupcake twice and then cut out the second heart and pop dotted it onto the first one. I also added some doodlebug sugar coating chunky style-LOVE that stuff!
Brads and paper are Basic Grey-Sugar Rush, bling is prima.
The ribbon is from The Truly Scrumptious Crafts store-HERE.

Well, thanks for stopping by today....make sure you check out the Truly Scrumptious blog-HERE to see what the other designer's came up with!

Sharon was so generous to give all of the design team members free ribbon and botton kits to use on this week's challenge!
I received the Spring Kit.
Pictured here:

Lots of fun stuff to play with!
Here is the sketch for this week's challenge:
Isn't is fabby?
Okay so on to my card. ;o)

I used some old paper-from the DCWV-Nana's Nursery stack.
The adorable image is Whipper Snapper and you can find it HERE.
I colored in the image with my copics.
The heart charm/buttons and ribbon are all from The Truly Scrumptious Crafts
The Congratulations sentiment is CTMH-stamped in Sweet Leaf ink
I also did machine stitching....I'm a tad bit rusty-haven't used my darn sewing machine in a while...but I do still love the look of machine stitching on cards.

Thanks for stopping by.

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #24-All Sewn up!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!
So today's card is for this week's Truly Scrumptious challenge.
Sharon was so sweet to use the sketch I made for the challenge-plus she wants us to add some stitching.
Well, of course I encountered some technical difficulties with my stubborn 35 year old singer sewing machine....so I had to settle for faux stitching instead. Luckily Close To My Heart has an awesome "stitches" stamp set, that I totally LOVE!

Both images I used are Magnolia, and I got them from Magnolia-lici0us! The absolutely BEST place to get Magnolia stamps. Diana, the owner is so sweet and she really does offer the BEST service. A lot of other stamp companies cater to the design team...but Diane really makes her customers the focus. :o)
I colored in Giggling Tilda and the Kitchen Bench with my copics and then air brushed the background. I pop dotted the bench and Tilda.
The paper is BoBunny-Kitchen Spice and so are the buttons are flowers.
The bling is prima
The brads are CTMH
The sentiment is MFT, stamped is CTMH Cocoa ink
My faux stitching is below the sentiment; stamped in cocoa ink as well.
Oh and here is the sketch for the challenge:

Make sure you check out the other designer's cards HERE, and have a fabby day!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #23

Happy New!
Today is the first TS for the year 2010.
We have a fabby sketch to follow and a color combo.
Here is the fabby sketch by our very talented Mina:

The color combo, which is not mandatory is Pink/green/black.
I got this new fabby Basic Grey paper-Sugar Rush. That has a dark grey, pink and green in it. Sure it has a few other colors but I figured it still counted. :o}
I really need to invest in a new, better camera. This picture doesn't do this card the justoce it deserves. I LOVE tis card. It's so vibrate and pretty.
I made it for my niece who is turning 15. I originally was going to make a "teen" card but I just couldn't resist this Mo's image.
I colored in the image with my copics-of course. :o}
The paper, buttons, brads and paper embellishments are basic grey-Sugar Rush.

The sentiment is CTMH.
Well thanks for stopping by today.

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #22

Hello and Happy Wednesday. :o)
It's another Truly Scrumptious Challenge-the last one for the year 2009.....yikes. Is time flying by or is it just me?
For the TS Challenge #22 we have another fabby sketch of course.
Here it is:

The added challenge is to use vellum as well. I haven't used vellum in a long time. But it gave me a chance to play with a white stazon ink pad that my stampin' buddy Shelly gave me for my bday. Thanks Shell ;O). I stamped white snowflakes onto the vellum-it turned out great.
Here are the rest of the details for today's card:
Paper is CTMH-Aspen
The image is a new Tilda from the Jolly 2009 collection. I colored her in with my copics and I also used spica clear and gold pens-love that soft sparkle you can create with those.
The paper flowers and bling are prima. The sentiment is CTMH-stamped in Twilight.

Thanks for stopping by today and make sure you check out the Truly Scrumptious site to see what the other designers came up with-and enter the challenge! This week's prize is hosted by Whimsy Stamps. :o)

MIA?....not quite-but here is my TS Challenge #21

Hello. ;o)
Long time no post. I've been semi-missing in action.
a couple of weeks ago my hubby surprised me with a fabby shopping trip in Chicago-my new favorite US city. And then upon our return, he asked me to help him set up an HR dept. for our small manufacturing company. Or should I say...become the HR department...lol anyways, I've been working hard helping him out.

I missed a couple of my DT challenges...which makes me sooooo sad. So I promised myself that I would get the cards done-even if they were late. So here is the card I made for the TS challenge #21. I especially wanted to complete this card bc I LOVE the sketch. If you don't already do TS challenges-you should stop by and check it out! We have the BEST sponsors who always offer the cutest stamps/digi's to the winner of the challenge!
Debbie-our GD made the fabby sketch and asked us to add a bling flourish.....:o)))
Here is the fabby sketch:

Here are the complete details for my card:
The paper is My Mind's Eye-Bloom and Grow
The image is Magnolia and colored in with copics. I also used a clear spica copic pen on Tilda's hair for a bit of soft luster. You can't see it in the photo but it looks really pretty on the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabby Friday. ;o)

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #20-Sketch & Texture

It is also Remembrance Day here in Canada...a time to remember all of those who fought for
our freedom, and protection. Please take a moment today to think about all of the courageous soldiers, who helped make Canada the country it is today.

It is Wednesday today and another Truly Scrumptious challenge.
This week's challenge is a sketch by the awesome and so very sweet Dawn.
Here is her sketch:
Sharon has asked that we also add some texture to our cards.
I hate to be a whiner but I had a very hard time photographing this card. :o} Even with my new light box...the colors in the card were causing me a lot of grief!
The card in real life is very pretty, the colors in the paper are very vibrant.
Anyways,
here are the details:
Paper is Basic Grey-Indian Summer
I used a new Martha Stewart border punch-love her new releases!!
I also used rectangle and circle nesties
The sentiment is CTMH-stamped in chocolate and tulip
The brads are CTMH
The fiber, called Sassy Strands is also CTMH

Thanks for looking and make sure you check out the TS blog so you can see what all the other designer's came up with!

TRuly Scrumptious Challenge #19-Sketch & Recipe

Hello and welcome back to another Truly Scrumptious challenge! I missed last week and didn't want to miss another week so I got this card done several days ago. Felt good to get it done early.
The TS Challenge #19 is a sketch and recipe. Here is the fabby sketch:

Of course I tweaked it into a 6x6. :o)
The recipe is as follows:
3 flowers/3 rhinestones/3 brads
Easy Peasy!
I must tell you that I LOVE this card. I just love how it turned out...but it really didn't photograph very well...the picture really doesn't do it justice. Oh well. :o}

I used my absolutely favorite Holiday paper this year-Basic Grey:Eskimo Kisses. Even the name is down right adorable!
The image is Edwin and Tilda skating...I just love this image to pieces
I colored in the image with my copics
The sentiment stamp is Close To My Heart, I also added some stickles to the sentiment to make it pop a bit.
I used my rectangle nesties and my snowflake shapeabilites both by spellbinders. I airbrushed the snowflakes
I also added some Prima Bling flourishes
Now to explain how I used the recipe:
I used SU! Sparkle Brads-Rhinestones and Brads in one! :o)
I also decided to use snowflakes instead of flowers....cause snowflakes are like winter flowers right? hehe

Make sure you check out the TS challenge blog to see what the other designer's came up with; and have a fabby Wednesday!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #17-Doodles

Hello and Happy Wednesday!
Well, I've had a crazy last few days!
We have suffered a small dose of the flu here-well 3 of four of us anyways. So I was out of commission yesterday...but not to worry I had my TS #17 challenge all done and ready to post on Sunday...:o)
Until this morning when I realized I hadn't completed it right!! lol
Our sponsor for this week is the Sketching Stamper; and she very generously gave all of us designer's some brand new images to use on this challenge....:o) Well, to make a long story short I had to redo my whole card and redo my whole post......hhhmmmmm
So I was busy busy busy trying to get it finished on time!
The very awesome Sharon hosted this challenge and she created this gorgeous sketch for us to use:

She also wants us to add some doodling....yikes! I'm terrible with my free hand!
I'm not very happy with how my doodling turned out but oh well!

I used one of the beautiful images that the Sketching Stamper gave us. It reminds me of my two older daughters.
I colored in the image with copics. I colored in the blonde girl's shirt with BG72 and then shaded with BG75 and then I took my blender pen and made the diagonal check design-LOVE that technique! I really love how my coloring turned out on this image.

I made the paper flowers with my sizzix-thanks to the inspiration from my fellow TS designer Michele. ;o)
I also airbrushed around my images...LOVE that look!
The sentiments are all Close To My Heart
The paper is Jingle Bells by Close To My Heart

Okay so I didn't just want to leave my original card on my desk collecting dust...so here it is. ;o) Enjoy.....

Paper: Close To My Heart -Grace
Image: Magnolia-Fall 2009 Kit
Ribbon and Doodle stamps are Close To My Heart
I airbrushed the paper flowers (they were originally white) with four different colors
The leaves are made using my cricut and are also airbrushed

Hello and happy Wednesday!
I can't believe it is another Truly Scrumptious challenge again! Wow!

What a fun challenge!
Here is Heather's Sketch:

What a fabby sketch :o)
So I was going to stamp a Tilda or two and add in a stamped tree or house...but I decided to do something different. I decided to use three different stamps and make my own patterned paper. I stamped two flower stamps, that I colored in with my copics and then I also stamped the "rings" in chocolate ink. I also stamped my Tilda and colored her in with my copics.
I used my airbrush system to color in the flower that Tilda is standing against
Cardstock is Close To My Heart-Buttercup/Chocolate
Flowers are Bazzill
Chipboard buttons and Ribbon are also Close To My Heart

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #14

Welcome to another TS challenge. I can't believe we have already done 14 challenges. Wow time does fly by.
The challenge for this week is create something other than a card. No problems there....I LOVE making little boxes that I can fill with treats and give away to friends/teachers.
For this challenge I used one of Lauren Meader's Timeless Templates. Her templates are downloads. You can print them on colored cardstock and then you just cut them out. Her instructions are super easy to follow and her templates are 5$ each! :o)

Here are the complete details for my card:
Cardstock is CTMH-Tulip
Paper is Nana's Nursery
Flowers are Prima
Buttons are My Mind's Eye
Bling is Prima I believe
Sentiment is CTMH
Image is Magnolia-Spring 2009; colored in with Copics
Ribbon is CTMH
Make sure you check out the TS blog so you can see what all the other designer's came up with!

Before I go...
I must tell you it was my birthday on Sunday.:o)
My hubby ordered me an air compressor for my copics...so excited to get to use it soon!

But I also received a couple of cards from my fellow Truly Scrumptious DT members.
Dawn sent me a beautiful card and this generous stack of patterned paper! Isn't it lovely?

This is the beautiful card Dawn sent me...all the way from the UK! This card is just so beautiful; it has so many stunning details...and Dawn colored in the image beautifully! I just love this card so much!
And Sharon sent me this beautiful card....she colored it in just so beautifully; and the flower she made is just stunning! I just love it!
and this little stash on the left side of the picture! Wow-I was so surprised to get some stash in the mail all the way from the UK!

Thanks!
