Another Birthday Card

Hello. :o)
Yes I have been in my scraproom again......aaahhhhh Heaven. :o}
I really want to keep up with Birthday's and Thank you cards this year.
So I made this card for my MotherInlaw for her birthday on Jan 21st. My New Year's resolution is to mail out the cards I make! I'm not sure if I'm the only one-but I have about 75 completed cards just sitting here in a basket collecting dust!
Anyways...:o)
Here are the complete details for my card today.
The image is Clara from Kraftin Kimmie's Stamps and you can get it HERE.
I colored her in with my copics.
I also got a new air compressor bc my old one that I got for my bday was causing me some grief....sometimes ebay purchases aren't worth the money saved. :o(
My new compressor is the Winstorm and I got it at my LSS-they let me use a 30% off coupon so the price was really good....plus no shipping or duty!

This what it looks like-it's so small and it works awesome!
Anyways, I'm still getting used to it so my air brushing needs a bit of work.

The paper is brand new from BoBunny-Flutter Butter. LOVE the colors!
Buttons are also from the same BoBUnny collection. I'm such a sucker for matching accessories.
The sentiment is from Close To My Heart, stamped in cocoa
Bling is Prima
Ribbon and brads are Close To My Heart

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Birthday

Hello. :o)
I am so happy to be able to share with you another card this week.
I was busy cleaning my house the whole morning and then I snuck into my scraproom in the afternoon to work on a card...life is good-calm and peaceful.
I made this card for my Oma-she turns 90 on January 2nd.
I really wanted to make this card special...so I added lots of layers and lots of details.
Here are the complete details:
The Image is a brand new Tilda from the Winter 2009 collection. I just love her with her hands in her pockets!
The cake stamps in the background are BRAND new from CTMH....the stamp set is called: Piece of Cake and it's the February 2010 stamp of the month. It has six whimsical cakes and four sentiments....perfect for birthday's and celebrations.
Anyways,
I colored in all my images with copics. I also added some sparkle with clear spica pens here and there and stickles.
The paper is Basic Grey-Nook & Pantry
Flowers and bling are Prima
Buttons are a mix of SU! and CTMH
Ribbon is also SU!
The pearls are CTMH
The sentiment is stamped in Cocoa and is MFT
I also used a Martha Stewart border punch and a few different nesties.
The dot embossing is made using the cuttlebug swiss dots folder....love that thing!

Thanks for stopping by-have a fabby....geesh-what day is it?
Monday ....no it's already Tuesday!

Cheers!

Dottie's World Challenge-It's A Girl Thing!

Well, I'm a tad bit late getting my DW card posted.....geesh Christmas prep. is like a mini wedding! I've been struggling all month long trying to keep up...and failing miserably! :o)
Hopefully now I can get caught up and stay that way.
This week Lou is hosting the DW challenge.
She wants us to make a girl card.
So of course I used one of the brand new Charmed Images from the Sugar and Spice collection-you can get it HERE
The paper I used is Imaginisce Twitter Patter
The buttons are Basic Grey-Nook & Pantry
The wide white gross grain ribbon is CTMH
I think that's about it for the card

I also wanted to show you the fabby cake I made for my Christmas dinner-I host Christmas dinner every year. :o)
The cake I made was a coconut cake and let me tell you, it was ridiculous!!
I used two cake mixes-yes it really was as huge as it looks in the picture.
For each cake mix I added 4 eggs, 1 cup oil, 1 cup sour cream, 4 ounces sweetened coconut, 1 teaspoon vanilla and one box of vanilla flavored jello....yup each sliver of a piece was about 5000 calories!
I made two batches of butter icing, and then used my BIG pastry tip to decorate the sides. I also sprinkled tons of coconut on top.
In between the layers I added Raspberry Spread-my favorite. :o}
The little hollies and poinsettias were premade-Martha Stewart

I trust you had a brilliant Christmas, thanks for stopping by today.
Cheers, Peace and Goodwill to all!

December Challenge-Stocking

Hello and Happy Sunday. :o)
Another Sunday and another fun challenge over at Dottie's World!
Gunn is the hostess this week and she has asked us to include a STOCKING on our card this week. Well I was a tad bit stumped and then I found a sheet of fabby Christmas paper that I had bought a couple of weeks ago...that just happened to have Christmas stockings on it. Perfect! But I was having trouble incorporating the whole sheet so I decided to just punch out one of the stockings and add it. :o}

Here are the rest of the details:
All of the Paper is Imaginisce: Polar Expressions Collection
The image is a Charmed Download, of course, from the brand new released collection called "Sugar & Spice" and you can get it HERE.
I colored in the adorable image with my copics.
The paper flowers are Prima, the crochet flowers are CTMH, the buttons are BoBunny.
The brads are SU!
The sentiment is also a Charmed Download and you can get it for FREE!!!!!........HERE.

Three Snowflakes

Hello and Happy Sunday. ;o)
Are you ready for Christmas? I am so behind-I almost feel like giving up this year! lol But I am hoping to get the tree trimmed and my cards done and posted by early this week...:o)

This week I am hosting the Dottie's World Challenge. I really wanted to do a sketch but I still haven't figured out how to do one on my mac...So I decided to do a simple challenge this week-Just add THREE snowflakes to your card, along with a Charmed Download.
I used one of my all time favorite Charmed Downloads-Madison In The Mountains; from the World Tour Collection. You can get it HERE.
I colored her in with my copics; and I also airbrushed the background.
Paper is BoBunny and so are the buttons and sparkles.
The ribbon is CTMH
The metal snowflakes are from my LSS.
The paper flowers are Prima-I also stickled them a bit too to give them a Christmas feel.
The sentiment is a brand new not yet released Close To My Heart stamp from the "A Little Everything" set
I think that's everything.

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #22

Hello and Happy Wednesday. :o)
It's another Truly Scrumptious Challenge-the last one for the year 2009.....yikes. Is time flying by or is it just me?
For the TS Challenge #22 we have another fabby sketch of course.
Here it is:

The added challenge is to use vellum as well. I haven't used vellum in a long time. But it gave me a chance to play with a white stazon ink pad that my stampin' buddy Shelly gave me for my bday. Thanks Shell ;O). I stamped white snowflakes onto the vellum-it turned out great.
Here are the rest of the details for today's card:
Paper is CTMH-Aspen
The image is a new Tilda from the Jolly 2009 collection. I colored her in with my copics and I also used spica clear and gold pens-love that soft sparkle you can create with those.
The paper flowers and bling are prima. The sentiment is CTMH-stamped in Twilight.

Thanks for stopping by today and make sure you check out the Truly Scrumptious site to see what the other designers came up with-and enter the challenge! This week's prize is hosted by Whimsy Stamps. :o)

You're a star!

Hello and Happy Sunday. :o)
This week's Dottie's World challenge is hosted by Adele, and she wants us to add a star or two or three to our cards-and of course add a Charmed Download.
So when I first read this challenge-the first thing that popped into my head was the Star of Bethlehem....perfect for the season. I knew I had to use this super cute Charmed Download-called Nativity from the Bumper Christmas Collection-get it HERE.
Of course I colored in my image with my copics and added some Frosted Lace stickles to the ground for snow-before the stickles dried I also added some DoodleBug sugar coating-lilly white glitter-it's a tad bit "chunkier" than the other dust so it gives it a nicer snow look.
I also used my glue pen on a CTMH chipboard star, and then dumped a ton of yellow doodlebug sugar coating on it-nice and sparkly.

I used Basic Grey-Eskimo Kisses paper and some prima bling flourishes, SU! sparkle brads, and CTMH heavenly blue ribbon.
The sentiment is Kraftin Kimmie's from her new Holiday Sentiment collection.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Boy Oh Boy!

Hello. ;o)
Here is my DT card for this week's Dottie World "Boy Oh Boy" challenge. Lou from DW designed another adorable collection of digi-stamps called "Boy Oh Boy" and wanted us to use them this week.
I decided to use this adorable little boy doing a cartwheel. I printed him on Magna CS with my Canon pixma printer-and then colored him in with my copics.
I made this card for my little nephew who is turning 6 this month. He's such an active little guy so as soon as I saw this image I knew I had to use it. Ashton has really dark hair-so I went in and used warm grey 01/03/06 .
The paper is discontinued K&Company.
The sentiments are from a brand new not yet released Close To My Heart stamp set.
Make sure you stop over at DW to see what the other designer's came up with. :o)

I also used this fabby friday sketcher's sketch #7. I have sooooo many sketches sitting on my mac desktop that I keep meaning to use.....so this sketch is a few weeks old-but still so very fabby. ;o)

MIA?....not quite-but here is my TS Challenge #21

Hello. ;o)
Long time no post. I've been semi-missing in action.
a couple of weeks ago my hubby surprised me with a fabby shopping trip in Chicago-my new favorite US city. And then upon our return, he asked me to help him set up an HR dept. for our small manufacturing company. Or should I say...become the HR department...lol anyways, I've been working hard helping him out.

I missed a couple of my DT challenges...which makes me sooooo sad. So I promised myself that I would get the cards done-even if they were late. So here is the card I made for the TS challenge #21. I especially wanted to complete this card bc I LOVE the sketch. If you don't already do TS challenges-you should stop by and check it out! We have the BEST sponsors who always offer the cutest stamps/digi's to the winner of the challenge!
Debbie-our GD made the fabby sketch and asked us to add a bling flourish.....:o)))
Here is the fabby sketch:

Here are the complete details for my card:
The paper is My Mind's Eye-Bloom and Grow
The image is Magnolia and colored in with copics. I also used a clear spica copic pen on Tilda's hair for a bit of soft luster. You can't see it in the photo but it looks really pretty on the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabby Friday. ;o)

Dottie's World Challenge

Hello and Happy Sunday!
It's another challenge day at DW today and The exceptional Gunn is hosting this week.....and did she dream up a challenge!!!
Here is what she wants:

"When I say gingerbreadhouse I mean: lets be inspired by them. They have this beautiful warm brown color, and the embellishment are so full of colores. And ofcours I get reminded of the fact that Christmas is coming up.
So think about the colors and the embellishments or even the shape of gingerbreadhouses and use some of it on a card or a box. And ofcourse there has to be a Charmed downloads on the project."

Okay so I LOVE gingerbread anything....:o}, but this was tough!
I decided to go with the whole "gingerbread house decorating thing..." Lots of yummy embellishments and yummy papers....and a Holiday themed Charmed Download.
Works for me!
The Charmed Image I used is from the Dottie Bumper Christmas Collection and you can get it HERE
Of course Dottie and her snowman friend are colored with copics
The paper is Eskimo Kisses by My Mind's Eye

I wanted to show you two different stickles I used on this card. The Snow is Frosted Lace stickles.....it dries with a rough surface and very little sparkle...perfect for snow. :o)
I used my favorite stickle color-Star Dust on the Snowman and Dotties' buttons. Star Dust has a pearl essence color to it and will pick up any color beneath it. So color with your copics first and then add a dot or two and voila!

Thanks for stopping by today...make sure you check out Dotties World to see what the other designer's came up with for this challenge.

The white "scalloped" ribbon was Making Memories from a few years ago-I was glad to finally put it to good use!

Dottie's World Challenge-Around The World

Hello and Happy Sunday!
This week's Dottie World challenge is called "Around The World" Gunn wants us to incorporate something "foreign" into our card.....hmhmhmhmh
So I decided last minute to do an Asian theme card. But I didn't want to do the typical red Asian card.
I found this super cute BoBunny paper that has a it of a modern asian theme.
Of course I used a Charmed Download, Madison in China, from the Holly and Madison The World Tour.... you can get it HERE.
I printed the download onto my favorite cardstock for downloads...Manga From the Bee Company, and then colored in with my copics.
I also airbrushed the background.
The sentiment is Close To My Heart, stamped in Cocoa. The ribbon is also CTMH.

Sorry for the quickie post...I barely made the deadline for this card...I was helping my daughter with her science project...We made a model of a neon molecule...protons/neutrons and electrons.....lots of fun!
Good thing my friend Crissy came by today and helped me...I mean made me a light box! She is a photographer. I had to photograph this card at 12:00am....and never would have gotten the picture without a light box! Thanks Crissy!!

Have a super day and make sure you check out DW so you can see what the other designers came up with!

Sending Smiles :o)

Hello and Happy Friday. ;o)
My whole crew is home today...professional day for the teachers....:o) I love having all my kids home with me.
I made this fabby card for Kimmie's Guest DT call. I worked really hard on it and was having a hard time finishing it!
Anyways, I'm sooooo happy with it! I just love everything about it!
Here are the details:
The image I used is Charlotte and you can get her HERE.
I colored her in with my copics of course. Coloring with red copics can be challenge so I used the technique that I call tip to tip. I added #39 to directly to the tip of my blender pen. That way you have more control over how much red you are adding to your image.
I also added some stickles here and there.
The cupcake is a Kimmie stamps and you can get it HERE.The image is an accessory stamp that comes with Francesca.

The sentiment "sending smiles" is also one of Kimmie's stamps and you can get it HERE
The "U" is an alphabet stamp form Close To My Heart. I stamped it in CTMH Tulip ink
The bling flourishes are Prima....LOVE them so much!
The ribbon is CTMH
I also used a brand new Martha Stewart border punch-Double Loop. :o)
And curvy square /blossom and circle nesties
I used the "out of box" technique for Charlotte's crazy hair....I LOVE how that turned out!
Paper is My Mind's Eye-Oh La La
I also masked off Charlotte and airbrushed the background with my copics.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabby friday!

Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge #4-Tags

Hello and Happy Monday! Monday's are actually my favorite day of the week. It's a fresh start and a chance to get caught up.
I made todays card for Kraftin' Kimmie's 4th challenge. I love Kimmie's new stamp line. She's Canadian too which is so awesome! I wish her all the best with her new company!
Anyways, Kim wants us to make a card and include a tag...easy peasy!
I actually started this card last week for Kraftin Kimmie's 3rd challenge-use fall colors....but I
was not able to complete it in time so I added a tag to it so it worked for this week!
The adorable image can be found Here . This sweet deer is called Dorothy. :o) I colored her in with my copics...of course! I airbrushed the sky background...it's very subtle. I also used the "out of box" technique so Dorothy's party blower wouldn't get chopped off when I nestied her! :o) The cupcake image is from a stamp set that I can't remember the name of. I added doodlebug sugar coating and stickles to make it yummy!

I made the tag with one of my older sizzlits. The sentiment is also one of Kimmie's and can be found here. I stamped it in CTMH-Sorbet. And I distressed the tag with chocolate ink.
The ribbon is from walmart.
The paper is CTMH-Twitterpated. The felt leaves/chipboard buttons and copper brads are also Close To My Heart.

Thank you for stopping by today and having a fun, stamp filled day!

Dottie's World Challenge-Feathers

Hello and Happy Sunday. :o)
Is it just me or has this been a brutal flu season so far?
The stomach bug flew through our house twice and now the seasonal flu/H1N1 (who knows which one for sure??) is making it's way through our house now....and it's only October 31st! Geesh. I'm tired of being sick and taking care of the sick! Hopefully this is the last nasty bug that sweeps through our house so we can reclaim our lives!
Anyways, on to the fun stuff...stamping and card making!
This week at Dotties World June wants us to add a feather or two to our cards. I actually had to go out and purchase a bag of feathers! My kids, to say the least, were THRILLED!
I used one of the most popular Charmed DownLoads from the Pixie Collection:Holly Pixie
I printed her on to my favorite card stock for downloads:The Artist Marker Pad from the Bee Paper Company. It never bleeds with my copics!
I also added LOTS of Doodlebug Sugar Coating and a tad bit of stickles here and there.
The chip board snowflake, the Enjoy The Season sentiment stamp, and the ribbon are all CTMH

The bling flourishes are Prima and the feather is from Michael's craft store.
I also used my round and ova nesties. The paper is Basic Grey-Eskimo Kisses, and I also used some Vineyard Berry CTMH cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by today...make sure you check out what the other designers came up with for this challenge: HERE and have a fabby Sunday.....make sure you take some time out for yourself and do some stampin'. :o)

TRuly Scrumptious Challenge #19-Sketch & Recipe

Hello and welcome back to another Truly Scrumptious challenge! I missed last week and didn't want to miss another week so I got this card done several days ago. Felt good to get it done early.
The TS Challenge #19 is a sketch and recipe. Here is the fabby sketch:

Of course I tweaked it into a 6x6. :o)
The recipe is as follows:
3 flowers/3 rhinestones/3 brads
Easy Peasy!
I must tell you that I LOVE this card. I just love how it turned out...but it really didn't photograph very well...the picture really doesn't do it justice. Oh well. :o}

I used my absolutely favorite Holiday paper this year-Basic Grey:Eskimo Kisses. Even the name is down right adorable!
The image is Edwin and Tilda skating...I just love this image to pieces
I colored in the image with my copics
The sentiment stamp is Close To My Heart, I also added some stickles to the sentiment to make it pop a bit.
I used my rectangle nesties and my snowflake shapeabilites both by spellbinders. I airbrushed the snowflakes
I also added some Prima Bling flourishes
Now to explain how I used the recipe:
I used SU! Sparkle Brads-Rhinestones and Brads in one! :o)
I also decided to use snowflakes instead of flowers....cause snowflakes are like winter flowers right? hehe

Make sure you check out the TS challenge blog to see what the other designer's came up with; and have a fabby Wednesday!

Dottie's World Challenge-Child's Play

Hello and Happy Sunday! Another Sunday...another Dottie's World Challenge, ;o)
This week Lou wants us to make a card for a child. I decided to make a card for my daughter Emily for her 10th birthday..yes it was last month but things were so crazy I didn't get a chance to make her a card.
I used a Charmed Download of course-A Pixie Chick from the Pixie set #2-Rose Bud.
I snuck out of the house bright and early Saturday morning so I could make it to my LSS, they were having a huge 20% off your entire order today. Yummy! So I got the brand new Basic Grey-Nook and Pantry...love it! I used it on today's card and I must tell you it is some yummy!
Of course I also got the matching buttons-which I used on my card today as well...and some MORE Prima bling!
I was also able to get two new nestie sets that I used on today's card-Labels 8 and Shapeabilities-Flower Creations.
I love this new nestie label 8-it includes larger sizes-perfect for many of my people stamps.
The Flower Creations set is also awesome! I made these cool flowers with them today. I am just in LOVE with them!

Be sure to check out Dottie's World to see what all the other designer's came up with for this challenge! And have a relaxing day today...you deserve it!

Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge #2

Hello and Happy Wednesday. :o) I'm so glad we are almost half way through the week-I am sooooo looking forward to the weekend. Not that we are doing anything special-but at least we can sleep in.
I made today's card with my brand new stamp Charlotte from Kraftin' Kimmie's new stamp collection. OMG! I just love this stamp. Miss Charlotte is so sweet holding her baby dolls and her HAIR is so much fun to color in!
Kimmie's challenge for this week is to use buttons.....HELLO? I LOVE adding buttons to my cards!
I colored in Miss Charlotte with my copics and added a bit of stickles here and there for interest. The paper is from BoBunny-Kitchen Spice-I promise to lay of this collection for a bit after today-I'm sure you all have seen enough of it. :o)

Anyways, I also used lots of Prima bling. I added CTMH sparkles to my scalloped border that I created using my SU! punch. I also used a Martha Stewart border punch and three different types of nesties. The buttons are BoBunny and the ribbon is CTMH.

I think that's pretty much it!
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabby day!
