Dottie's World Challenge

Hello and Happy Sunday!
It's another challenge day at DW today and The exceptional Gunn is hosting this week.....and did she dream up a challenge!!!
Here is what she wants:

"When I say gingerbreadhouse I mean: lets be inspired by them. They have this beautiful warm brown color, and the embellishment are so full of colores. And ofcours I get reminded of the fact that Christmas is coming up.
So think about the colors and the embellishments or even the shape of gingerbreadhouses and use some of it on a card or a box. And ofcourse there has to be a Charmed downloads on the project."

Okay so I LOVE gingerbread anything....:o}, but this was tough!
I decided to go with the whole "gingerbread house decorating thing..." Lots of yummy embellishments and yummy papers....and a Holiday themed Charmed Download.
Works for me!
The Charmed Image I used is from the Dottie Bumper Christmas Collection and you can get it HERE
Of course Dottie and her snowman friend are colored with copics
The paper is Eskimo Kisses by My Mind's Eye

I wanted to show you two different stickles I used on this card. The Snow is Frosted Lace stickles.....it dries with a rough surface and very little sparkle...perfect for snow. :o)
I used my favorite stickle color-Star Dust on the Snowman and Dotties' buttons. Star Dust has a pearl essence color to it and will pick up any color beneath it. So color with your copics first and then add a dot or two and voila!

Thanks for stopping by today...make sure you check out Dotties World to see what the other designer's came up with for this challenge.

True Friend Recipe

Hello and Happy Thursday!
I really love this card...it took me forever to make! :o}
There are so many different elements/layers to it.
The paper is BoBunny-Kitchen Spice, and so are the buttons and brads
The image is a Tilda, colored in with my copics.
Bling is prima
I also used a couple of border punches....one is MS and the other is SU! Geesh that SU! scallop border punch is such an essential tool...love it!
The sentiment "recipe", and rolling pin that Tilda is sitting on are also magnolia stamps along with the frame stamp...the True Friend sentiment is Close To My Heart.
The white "scalloped" ribbon was Making Memories from a few years ago-I was glad to finally put it to good use!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a fabby Thursday!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #20-Sketch & Texture

It is also Remembrance Day here in Canada...a time to remember all of those who fought for
our freedom, and protection. Please take a moment today to think about all of the courageous soldiers, who helped make Canada the country it is today.

It is Wednesday today and another Truly Scrumptious challenge.
This week's challenge is a sketch by the awesome and so very sweet Dawn.
Here is her sketch:
Sharon has asked that we also add some texture to our cards.
I hate to be a whiner but I had a very hard time photographing this card. :o} Even with my new light box...the colors in the card were causing me a lot of grief!
The card in real life is very pretty, the colors in the paper are very vibrant.
Anyways,
here are the details:
Paper is Basic Grey-Indian Summer
I used a new Martha Stewart border punch-love her new releases!!
I also used rectangle and circle nesties
The sentiment is CTMH-stamped in chocolate and tulip
The brads are CTMH
The fiber, called Sassy Strands is also CTMH

Thanks for looking and make sure you check out the TS blog so you can see what all the other designer's came up with!

Dottie's World Challenge-Around The World

Hello and Happy Sunday!
This week's Dottie World challenge is called "Around The World" Gunn wants us to incorporate something "foreign" into our card.....hmhmhmhmh
So I decided last minute to do an Asian theme card. But I didn't want to do the typical red Asian card.
I found this super cute BoBunny paper that has a it of a modern asian theme.
Of course I used a Charmed Download, Madison in China, from the Holly and Madison The World Tour.... you can get it HERE.
I printed the download onto my favorite cardstock for downloads...Manga From the Bee Company, and then colored in with my copics.
I also airbrushed the background.
The sentiment is Close To My Heart, stamped in Cocoa. The ribbon is also CTMH.

Sorry for the quickie post...I barely made the deadline for this card...I was helping my daughter with her science project...We made a model of a neon molecule...protons/neutrons and electrons.....lots of fun!
Good thing my friend Crissy came by today and helped me...I mean made me a light box! She is a photographer. I had to photograph this card at 12:00am....and never would have gotten the picture without a light box! Thanks Crissy!!

Have a super day and make sure you check out DW so you can see what the other designers came up with!

Sending Smiles :o)

Hello and Happy Friday. ;o)
My whole crew is home today...professional day for the teachers....:o) I love having all my kids home with me.
I made this fabby card for Kimmie's Guest DT call. I worked really hard on it and was having a hard time finishing it!
Anyways, I'm sooooo happy with it! I just love everything about it!
Here are the details:
The image I used is Charlotte and you can get her HERE.
I colored her in with my copics of course. Coloring with red copics can be challenge so I used the technique that I call tip to tip. I added #39 to directly to the tip of my blender pen. That way you have more control over how much red you are adding to your image.
I also added some stickles here and there.
The cupcake is a Kimmie stamps and you can get it HERE.The image is an accessory stamp that comes with Francesca.

The sentiment "sending smiles" is also one of Kimmie's stamps and you can get it HERE
The "U" is an alphabet stamp form Close To My Heart. I stamped it in CTMH Tulip ink
The bling flourishes are Prima....LOVE them so much!
The ribbon is CTMH
I also used a brand new Martha Stewart border punch-Double Loop. :o)
And curvy square /blossom and circle nesties
I used the "out of box" technique for Charlotte's crazy hair....I LOVE how that turned out!
Paper is My Mind's Eye-Oh La La
I also masked off Charlotte and airbrushed the background with my copics.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabby friday!

Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge #4-Tags

Hello and Happy Monday! Monday's are actually my favorite day of the week. It's a fresh start and a chance to get caught up.
I made todays card for Kraftin' Kimmie's 4th challenge. I love Kimmie's new stamp line. She's Canadian too which is so awesome! I wish her all the best with her new company!
Anyways, Kim wants us to make a card and include a tag...easy peasy!
I actually started this card last week for Kraftin Kimmie's 3rd challenge-use fall colors....but I
was not able to complete it in time so I added a tag to it so it worked for this week!
The adorable image can be found Here . This sweet deer is called Dorothy. :o) I colored her in with my copics...of course! I airbrushed the sky background...it's very subtle. I also used the "out of box" technique so Dorothy's party blower wouldn't get chopped off when I nestied her! :o) The cupcake image is from a stamp set that I can't remember the name of. I added doodlebug sugar coating and stickles to make it yummy!

I made the tag with one of my older sizzlits. The sentiment is also one of Kimmie's and can be found here. I stamped it in CTMH-Sorbet. And I distressed the tag with chocolate ink.
The ribbon is from walmart.
The paper is CTMH-Twitterpated. The felt leaves/chipboard buttons and copper brads are also Close To My Heart.

Thank you for stopping by today and having a fun, stamp filled day!

Dottie's World Challenge-Feathers

Hello and Happy Sunday. :o)
Is it just me or has this been a brutal flu season so far?
The stomach bug flew through our house twice and now the seasonal flu/H1N1 (who knows which one for sure??) is making it's way through our house now....and it's only October 31st! Geesh. I'm tired of being sick and taking care of the sick! Hopefully this is the last nasty bug that sweeps through our house so we can reclaim our lives!
Anyways, on to the fun stuff...stamping and card making!
This week at Dotties World June wants us to add a feather or two to our cards. I actually had to go out and purchase a bag of feathers! My kids, to say the least, were THRILLED!
I used one of the most popular Charmed DownLoads from the Pixie Collection:Holly Pixie
I printed her on to my favorite card stock for downloads:The Artist Marker Pad from the Bee Paper Company. It never bleeds with my copics!
I also added LOTS of Doodlebug Sugar Coating and a tad bit of stickles here and there.
The chip board snowflake, the Enjoy The Season sentiment stamp, and the ribbon are all CTMH

The bling flourishes are Prima and the feather is from Michael's craft store.
I also used my round and ova nesties. The paper is Basic Grey-Eskimo Kisses, and I also used some Vineyard Berry CTMH cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by today...make sure you check out what the other designers came up with for this challenge: HERE and have a fabby Sunday.....make sure you take some time out for yourself and do some stampin'. :o)
