No Tilda-Just her Kitty and a couple of friends

Hello and Happy Friday....wow was that a short week! The kids went back to school yesterday so it made this week fly by.
I made today's card for a childhood friend. A friend whose birth date I swear I will never forgot. She helped me get through the rough early adolescent years. Her name was Lisa-but she later changed her name to Liz-she'll always be Lisa to me.

Anyways, I used a few magnolia images. The birds and cat are Tilda's friends. :o) I love these little images-they are so adorable-I usually use them all together.
The flowers and pots are brand new from Close To My Heart.
The sentiment is MFT
Images are colored in with copics and I also used a bit of stickles here and there
The paper is Basic Grey-Sugar Rush. My new favorite this season. Buttons and brads are also from the same collection.
The ribbon is from my stash.
I also want to share with you a brand new "gadget" I found at Michael's during the boxing week sale. It's called the Mini Bowdabra. I was getting tired of my signature ribbon "knots" and wanted to try something different-but I suck at free hand bows. Then I found this little "machine". I got it with my 50% off coupon-so it was well under $10. It makes the cutest little bows, and it's so easy to use! I just love it and can't wait to make more cute bows with it!

Anyways, thanks for stopping by today.
See you in a couple days for the Dottie's Challenge-I'm hosting this week. I created my first ever sketch!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #23

Happy New!
Today is the first TS for the year 2010.
We have a fabby sketch to follow and a color combo.
Here is the fabby sketch by our very talented Mina:

The color combo, which is not mandatory is Pink/green/black.
I got this new fabby Basic Grey paper-Sugar Rush. That has a dark grey, pink and green in it. Sure it has a few other colors but I figured it still counted. :o}
I really need to invest in a new, better camera. This picture doesn't do this card the justoce it deserves. I LOVE tis card. It's so vibrate and pretty.
I made it for my niece who is turning 15. I originally was going to make a "teen" card but I just couldn't resist this Mo's image.
I colored in the image with my copics-of course. :o}
The paper, buttons, brads and paper embellishments are basic grey-Sugar Rush.

The sentiment is CTMH.
Well thanks for stopping by today.
Make sure you stop by the Truly Scrumptious blog to see what the other designer's came up with.

Dottie's World Challenge-Bring in the Old Bring in the New!

Hello and Happy Sunday! :o}
It's that time again...another challenge at Dottie's World.
This week Adele wants us to "bring out the old and bring in the new"
This is what she asked:

"As we have entered a New Year I would like you to look back at your "Crafts of the Past" dig out something from your stash, blow off the dust and put it to use with a new item that you have recently bought or been given as a pressie! As long as you use a Charmed Download, the rest is up to you."

So I had to make a card for my brother inlaw Terry for his 45th birthday, and I thought that this Charmed Download image form the Mikey collection, that you can get HERE; would be perfect.

I RARELY make guy cards....but I am really trying to keep up with all my bday cards this year so I had to make my brother inlaw a card. I like how it turned out. I tried to add a lot of personalized elements to it.
Terry is a HUGE Nebraska Huskers fan so I added the "N" to Mikey's shirt.
I circled the 44 and 1 on the little die cut for 45.
and I also hand stamped his name on the little name plate.

Here are the complete details:

I colored the image in with my copics of course.
The paper is My Mind's Eye-Ooh La La for Him, the die cuts are also from the same collection
The sentiment "Happy Birthday" is Close To MY Heart-stamped in black
I stamped Terry with a Close To MY Heart "Hodge Poge" Alphabet stamp set. The buttons, brads and spiral clip are CTMH as well.

Now for the challenge-the spiral clip has been in my stash for years...I have a whole container of them and can't even think of the last time I used them.
The paper was my most recent purchase; it was in the clearance section of my Local Scrap Store-but it was MY most recent purchase. :o}

Thanks for stopping by, have a fabby Sunday-and make sure you put your feet up and relax-if your Christmas was anything like mine-you NEED it. ;o)

Another Birthday Card

Hello. :o)
Yes I have been in my scraproom again......aaahhhhh Heaven. :o}
I really want to keep up with Birthday's and Thank you cards this year.
So I made this card for my MotherInlaw for her birthday on Jan 21st. My New Year's resolution is to mail out the cards I make! I'm not sure if I'm the only one-but I have about 75 completed cards just sitting here in a basket collecting dust!
Anyways...:o)
Here are the complete details for my card today.
The image is Clara from Kraftin Kimmie's Stamps and you can get it HERE.
I colored her in with my copics.
I also got a new air compressor bc my old one that I got for my bday was causing me some grief....sometimes ebay purchases aren't worth the money saved. :o(
My new compressor is the Winstorm and I got it at my LSS-they let me use a 30% off coupon so the price was really good....plus no shipping or duty!

This what it looks like-it's so small and it works awesome!
Anyways, I'm still getting used to it so my air brushing needs a bit of work.

The paper is brand new from BoBunny-Flutter Butter. LOVE the colors!
Buttons are also from the same BoBUnny collection. I'm such a sucker for matching accessories.
The sentiment is from Close To My Heart, stamped in cocoa
Bling is Prima
Ribbon and brads are Close To My Heart

Happy Birthday

Hello. :o)
I am so happy to be able to share with you another card this week.
I was busy cleaning my house the whole morning and then I snuck into my scraproom in the afternoon to work on a card...life is good-calm and peaceful.
I made this card for my Oma-she turns 90 on January 2nd.
I really wanted to make this card special...so I added lots of layers and lots of details.
Here are the complete details:
The Image is a brand new Tilda from the Winter 2009 collection. I just love her with her hands in her pockets!
The cake stamps in the background are BRAND new from CTMH....the stamp set is called: Piece of Cake and it's the February 2010 stamp of the month. It has six whimsical cakes and four sentiments....perfect for birthday's and celebrations.
Anyways,
I colored in all my images with copics. I also added some sparkle with clear spica pens here and there and stickles.
The paper is Basic Grey-Nook & Pantry
Flowers and bling are Prima
Buttons are a mix of SU! and CTMH
Ribbon is also SU!
The pearls are CTMH
The sentiment is stamped in Cocoa and is MFT
I also used a Martha Stewart border punch and a few different nesties.
The dot embossing is made using the cuttlebug swiss dots folder....love that thing!

Thanks for stopping by-have a fabby....geesh-what day is it?
Monday ....no it's already Tuesday!

Cheers!

Dottie's World Challenge-It's A Girl Thing!

Well, I'm a tad bit late getting my DW card posted.....geesh Christmas prep. is like a mini wedding! I've been struggling all month long trying to keep up...and failing miserably! :o)
Hopefully now I can get caught up and stay that way.
This week Lou is hosting the DW challenge.
She wants us to make a girl card.
So of course I used one of the brand new Charmed Images from the Sugar and Spice collection-you can get it HERE
The paper I used is Imaginisce Twitter Patter
The buttons are Basic Grey-Nook & Pantry
The wide white gross grain ribbon is CTMH
I think that's about it for the card

I also wanted to show you the fabby cake I made for my Christmas dinner-I host Christmas dinner every year. :o)
The cake I made was a coconut cake and let me tell you, it was ridiculous!!
I used two cake mixes-yes it really was as huge as it looks in the picture.
For each cake mix I added 4 eggs, 1 cup oil, 1 cup sour cream, 4 ounces sweetened coconut, 1 teaspoon vanilla and one box of vanilla flavored jello....yup each sliver of a piece was about 5000 calories!
I made two batches of butter icing, and then used my BIG pastry tip to decorate the sides. I also sprinkled tons of coconut on top.
In between the layers I added Raspberry Spread-my favorite. :o}
The little hollies and poinsettias were premade-Martha Stewart

I trust you had a brilliant Christmas, thanks for stopping by today.
Cheers, Peace and Goodwill to all!

December Challenge-Stocking

Hello and Happy Sunday. :o)
Another Sunday and another fun challenge over at Dottie's World!
Gunn is the hostess this week and she has asked us to include a STOCKING on our card this week. Well I was a tad bit stumped and then I found a sheet of fabby Christmas paper that I had bought a couple of weeks ago...that just happened to have Christmas stockings on it. Perfect! But I was having trouble incorporating the whole sheet so I decided to just punch out one of the stockings and add it. :o}

Here are the rest of the details:
All of the Paper is Imaginisce: Polar Expressions Collection
The image is a Charmed Download, of course, from the brand new released collection called "Sugar & Spice" and you can get it HERE.
I colored in the adorable image with my copics.
The paper flowers are Prima, the crochet flowers are CTMH, the buttons are BoBunny.
The brads are SU!
The sentiment is also a Charmed Download and you can get it for FREE!!!!!........HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today and make sure you go to the DW blog to see what all the other designer's came up with for this fabby challenge!
