A Card for a Friend

Hello and Happy Monday. ;o)
I had a crazy week last week so I am so excited to start a new week. My husband has been away and my children started school...which always ends up being very stressful. My duaghter is also having a very bad few months and I am so worried about her. ;o(
Anyways, I made this card for a friend of mine's mom who is in the hospital. I was unable to visit her last week because of my crazy week so I am hoping to go visit her this week when my husband returns. She LOVES Magnolia stamps...like me so I know she is going to appreciate this card when I give it to her. ;o)

I made this card using my newest favorite paper-My Mind's Eye: Ooh La La
The sentiment stamp is Close To My Heart stamped in Juniper and Tulip
Bling is Prima
Brads and Filigree are SU!
Thanks for stopping by and have a nice day!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #14

Welcome to another TS challenge. I can't believe we have already done 14 challenges. Wow time does fly by.
The challenge for this week is create something other than a card. No problems there....I LOVE making little boxes that I can fill with treats and give away to friends/teachers.
For this challenge I used one of Lauren Meader's Timeless Templates. Her templates are downloads. You can print them on colored cardstock and then you just cut them out. Her instructions are super easy to follow and her templates are 5$ each! :o)

Here are the complete details for my card:
Cardstock is CTMH-Tulip
Paper is Nana's Nursery
Flowers are Prima
Buttons are My Mind's Eye
Bling is Prima I believe
Sentiment is CTMH
Image is Magnolia-Spring 2009; colored in with Copics
Ribbon is CTMH
Make sure you check out the TS blog so you can see what all the other designer's came up with!

Before I go...
I must tell you it was my birthday on Sunday.:o)
My hubby ordered me an air compressor for my copics...so excited to get to use it soon!

But I also received a couple of cards from my fellow Truly Scrumptious DT members.
Dawn sent me a beautiful card and this generous stack of patterned paper! Isn't it lovely?

This is the beautiful card Dawn sent me...all the way from the UK! This card is just so beautiful; it has so many stunning details...and Dawn colored in the image beautifully! I just love this card so much!
And Sharon sent me this beautiful card....she colored it in just so beautifully; and the flower she made is just stunning! I just love it!
and this little stash on the left side of the picture! Wow-I was so surprised to get some stash in the mail all the way from the UK!

Dottie's World Challenge-Love is in the Air

Happy Sunday. ;o)
Dottie's World has another fun challenge this week-"Love is in The Air".
You have to make a card inspired by love. The summer is a great time for creating "love" cards because soooo many people get married, and then also have anniversaries during the summer...especially couples married before 1998, before autumn/spring weddings became sooo popular! lol
Anyways, my husband and I just celebrated our 13th anniversary last month, so I didn't need a card for us-but there are lots of anniversaries coming up over the next few months that I can use this fabby card for.
I actually really love this card. It was a labour of love.

Here are the complete details:
The image is a charmed download of course from the Dottie's Love and Marriage collection. I printed the image off onto my favorite paper for downloads-Canson Manga cardstock, and then colored in with my copics

Manga Drawing Pad, 20 sheets
This is a picture of the paper I always use for my digi-images; it hasn't failed me yet! lol I have a canon pixma color printer, and I usually print the picture and then assemble my card while the ink dries. I get my Manga Drawing Pad from Michael's craft store.
Another little tip-when i purchase my Charmed Downloads I always get the transparent background instead of the the white background-that way when the image is printed it is exactly the way it would be if I had hand stamped it. ;o)

The paper is K&Company-Wild Raspberries
I also used some CTMH-Tulip & Juniper cardstock and Hollyhock patterned paper
The sentiment is also CTMH-Fluttering Love
The heart stamp is from a retired CTMH set-stamped in tulip
Buttons are from my local loonie store
I also used my Martha Stewart border punch and SU! scallop punch...and of course my circle nesties.
I made the paper flowers with my Dahlia nesties-I just scrunched them all up after cutting them to make them look kinda distressed.

Make sure you check out Dottie's World here to see what all the other designer's came up with for the challenge.
Have a super day. ;o)

Trust Your Heart

Hello and Happy Tuesday. ;o)
My cleaning lady is here today so after I cleaned the house in time for her arrival...I was able to sit down in my craft room...after I worked on cleaning it up for an hour...lol.....and make a card.
I used a Charmed Download-Rose Bud from the Pixie Chicks #2 bundle.
I colored her in with my copics, and used stickles and doodlebug sugar coating on her wings.
The paper is CTMH-Bella.
The bling is Basic Grey
The sentiment is a brand new CTMH, not yet released stamp from the September 2009 Stamp Of The Month set; stamped in CTMH-Plum Mist ink
I also used my SU! scallop border punch and my EK Success border punch
....and my circle nesties.
The paper flowers are CTMH
The butterflies are made with my Martha Steward punch

Thanks for looking and have a super day.

Dottie's World Challenge-Monochromatic

Hello and Happy Sunday.
It's my turn to host Dottie's World challenge. I decided to ask everyone to do a monochromatic card. So everything on the card has to be the same color....any shade of one color. And you must use a Charmed Download-and to make it a tad bit easier, you can color in the image with any color(s).

So I decided to use one of the new pixie chicks...I just love these gals-they are so pretty and fun to color in.
All my paper is CTMH-creme bruele, the ribbon is also CTMH-creme breule
The fancy bling flourish is brand new form my LSS...they NEVER have these in stock-I just happened to go in to my LSS today for adhesive and voila-there they were!
The sentiment is also a Charmed Download-from the Pixie Chicks collection-I love that Karen and Louise added sentiments and backgrounds to the Pixie Chicks bundles-it makes them just so over the top affordable and economical. Have I told you how much I LOVE my downloads???
I also "dusted" some brand new doodlebug chunky sugar coating on my pixie's wings
I colored her in with my copics of course. :o)

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you check out all the other designer's work at Dottie's World.....wow-I'm so impressed with what the other girls came up with....they are so talented-I'm so lucky to be on such a wonderful team with them!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #13

Happy Wednesday. :O)
Welcome back to another Truly Scrumptious Challenge
This week's sketch is sponsored by ALOTA Rubber Stamps. They just have the cutest stamps and someone is going to win this super adorable set this week!

Today's challenge was hosted by the extra-talented Mina. She made an awesome sketch and she also wants us to add some bling! Oh my....I don't think I can do that....hehehehe I LOVE bling! It's my favorite thing to add these days! I used some more of my Basic Grey bling...love that stuff....and I just keep cutting little swirls here and there....I'm determined to make it last!
Here is the sketch Mina created for us this week:

I used one of my favorite Magnolia stamps from the Spring kit.. thank you Kelly for stamping it and sending it to me. :o)
Tilda is colored in with my copics-of course! and I also added some crystal stickles to her wings.
The sentiment is CTMH and is stamped in Twilight ink onto a "cut in half" rectangle nestie-I also sponged some CTMH creme breule ink onto it while it was still in the die.
The paper is from my new favorite Basic Grey stack-Lemonade...I promise I'll use something different next time...I've been using it a lot...I know...I just love it though!

I think thats about it...I'm going to the copics certification course in Edmonton at the end of the month so I'm expecting to learn lots of new things and improve my copic technique.

Have a fabby day, and don't forget to check out the Truly Scrumptious blog for the other designer's creations!

Dottie's World Challenge-Black & White

This Sunday at Dottie's World the challenge is all about black and white! You can use one additional color in your embellishments but everything else must be black and white....and you must include a Charmed Digi-download. :o)
I pulled out this Making Memories paper that I bought for my oldest daughter Molly.....who is not interested in card making in the least....well, I tried. :o)
I printed my Charmed Download-Madison-Oh La La on Magna paper and then colored in with my copics. I also used my spica glitter copic pen...so much fun! Very subtle but I love the look.
I made the flowers with my nesties.
The buttons are SU!
I added some pink bling-basic grey
I made and printed the sentiment on my computer

Make sure you head over to Dottie's World Challenge blog to see what the other designer's came up with for this challenge!

Thanks for looking and have a fabby Sunday!
