New Magnolia

My new magnolia stamps arrived yesterday...yeah! These are my favorites-I never have trouble makin a card with Tilda-she's my gal! LOL
Here are the details for todays card:
Paper: CTMH Caprice
Colors: Crystal Blue/Sweet Leaf/Chocolate/Honey
Stamp: Magnolia-Tilda holding basket
Technique: Watercolor
 Flowers are Bazzil
Spiral Clip and Brads are CTMH

BTW, as a side note-I bought some watercolor paper from walmart, bc I thought all watercolor paper was the same; evidently not! I had trouble with this watercolor paper-it made blending very difficult. I'm not happy with how tilda's face turned out and was afraid to add cheek color....o she's looks slightly sickly....But I just worked so hard on her clothes and am so happy with the way that turned out that I decided to still post it. :O)
I'm off to Michael's to find my first brand of watercolor paper I bought-it worked great!
I hope I can still remember what the brand was!! lol
What brand do you use?

Thanks for looking. ;O)

You're Simply Sweet

Today's card is another MFT. I'm anxiously awaiting some new stamps from Magnolia and Sweet & Sassy....so I'm going through my stamp stash and trying to use all my old favorites while I wait.

Colors: CTMH Red barn/Olive/Hollyhock/Goldrush/Sweet Leaf

Namaste

So I'm in my craft room-DH brought the four kids swimming-I'm here with my youngest and he's napping.....aaaahhhhh-there is no better way to craft-in silence. :O)
Here is another card using MFT Serenity Things stamp set. This card is super simple.
I used copics this time. (Eoo/E11/Y21/E37)
The thing with copics is that you need two or three colors in the same number family in order to do any shading-I did not know this! So I really need to order some more copics....hmhmhm I think I need a job now!
Anyways, I still love my copics and am willing to invest in them bc they are so awesome!
Here are my card details:
Paper: K&Company
CS: CTMH Olive
Flower: Kaiser
Metal flower is from my LSS
Brads are doodlebug-not my favorite by the way-they really bend out of shape when you try to insert them...not good!

First try with copics.....

Okay so Kimmie is one of my hugest inspirations for using copics. She does beautiful work and she is very knowledgeable.  I took her advice and bought some wausau cardstock (bright white) -I got mine at Walmart. Kim also uses memento ink to stamp her images so I tracked that down too. And they do work beautifully with copics. I can blend easily and the image does not bleed. Thanks Kim!
This is my first try-I only stamped half the magnolia image and am not sure if I have CS to match the colors I bought but I wanted to post it anyways. It's not perfect but it turned out way better than I thought it would.  It kinda "stained" a bit...on tilda's apron, not sure why..maybe over blending???
I also wanted to note that I got sketch markers.
TFL>
I'll try and get a card done tonight, I just have to search thru my stash for paper/CS to match the copic colors I bought.

I also wanted to tell you about some HEE HAW blog candy over at Michelleo's blog. Her blog is so cute and she has some fabulous blog candy she wants to give away!

EX-citing News

I have some exciting news.......I have officially gone copic!
My LSS just got in their first shipment of copic sketch markers....so of course as soon as I heard I sped down and spent my first 100$ on copic markers!
I'm so excited I can't wait to try them out!
AS soon as I get a card together, using my brand new copics-I'll post a picture!
Yippee!!!!!

Glam Girl

I've had this stamp for a long time but have had a lot of trouble with it for some reason...
Anyways, I figured the best way to show case this glam girl was to use a simple patterned paper. One that was more graphic than floral...does that make sense?
Here are the details:
stamp: Glam Girl C.C Designs
Paper: another sheet from my never ending K&Company stack from costco-I think I need to retire this stack for a while and use something, anything else! lol
I also used Sweet Leaf and Orchid CTMH CS
I paper pieced her clothes
Colored in all other parts with CTMH markers
Added doodle bug sugar coating to her shades.
Bling is CTMH
Sentiment is MFT
Ribbon is SU!
I made the flowers on my cricut-geesh I resurrected my bug!

My Plan...

Okay so I know you want to see a card but I wanted to share with you my plan-which I'm sure most of you do this already but it hadn't  occurred  to me until last night!
So after my kiddies were all tucked in and sleeping-I took out my basket of cling stamps and started stamping-no pressure just the images. For me because I have five children and two are still at home with me-I usually only get to "steal" a bit of time here and there. So now I canjust grab my already stamped image and go to town! Plus there are a lot of stamps in here that I totally forgot about!
Anyways, I plan on getting a lot of cards done this week now!
I'll post a card later.
Leave a comment with a tip you use to save time....
see you later!

What's Up Cupcake?

So here is a quickie-I really need to entertain the kiddies-they are going a bit stir crazy so I can't spend the whole day in my scrap room!
I made this card and it just needed something so I hope Cindy Haffner doesn't mind me using her "dot" technique. It really is her signature.  She's an amazing artist and my work will never compare to hers.....
Anyways here are the details:
Stamp Set: MFT
Colors CTMH: Sorbet/Tulip
I colored in the image with ink from the pad
Doodlebug sugar coating white sparkles

Just Clowning Around-Friday Sketchers Challenge #20

Wow! I can't believe it's friday already...and friday afternoon at that!
The one good thing about fridays is Friday Sketchers!   One of my favorite sketch challenge blogs!
So todays card is this weeks sketch.
I colored the images in with my CTMH markers and my waterbrush. I'm so glad this is possible bc all I have is CTMH CS an sometimes it can be tough finding the perfect watercolor pencil to match.
I made this card for my nephew-sorry about the flower Bruin but it's so hard for me to not include at least one flower in every card/layout I create! ;O)
Paper is from my never ending K&Company stack from Costco.
CTMH CS: Cocoa/Sweet Leaf and Crystal Blue
Buttons and Waxy flax are CTMH
Stamps are High Hopes
Flower is from my LSS.
Thanks for looking!

Hugs & Fishes

Okay so I am so not ready for fall yet...or winter! So I'm making some summer cards in a hope of holding on! lol
Here is one of my favorite high hopes stamps-the mermaid. I love her, she's so pretty with her long hair.
I colored her in with my CTMH markers! Can you believe that? I was looking around on you tube for video copic marker tutorial and came across a tutorial on how to use markers as watercolor markers. It's not as easy to blend as watercolor pencils but markers do blend quite easily, you have to use watercolor paper though.
Paper is: My Mind's Eye
Flowers are unknown
sparkles are CTMH
Markers: CTMH-ocean/breeze/tulip/blush/orange/goldrush/autumn terracotta/sweet leaf & citrus leaf
I colored in her hair with my  watercolor pencils.
I also used some doodlebug sugar coating in green/blue and orange-so summer and so fun!
Thanks for looking!

C'est la Vie

I made this card using an old Friday Sketchers sketch challenge. I really like this sketch and have used it a few times.
I dusted off my old "kenmore" sewing machine that was my mom's and did some stitching on this card. I used to do a lot of decor sewing about five years ago but put it away and forgot about it...
It was really easy sewing on the CS-I just have to practice a bit with the width and length of the stitches.
I was also on the south end of Calgary yesterday delivering my idea books when I found a scrapbook store.....needless to say-it was a great day yesterday! :O) Anyways, I found these little charms and bookplate. I bought a few more different kinds-mostly snowflakes.  I just love them.
I attached the bookplate with some CTMH liquid glass.
I also picked up the flowers-but I can't remember what the brand is.
Both stamp are MFT.
The ladies dresses are paper pieced.
I colored in the image with watercolor pencils.
Paper is CTMH Caprice
Colors are CTMH chocolate/crystal blue/honey

Hi There!

It took me a while to get this card finished-I've been feeling sick with a cold this past week and I think it's starting to affect my creative mojo....lol :O)
This card originally started out as a sketch challenge but I just couldn't get it to work so I ditched the challenge and tried something different. The sketch was still a good one-I'll try it again later this week....
Anyways, enough whining...
I stamped Tilda on watercolor paper from Michael's craft store with my versafine ink pad.  I colored Tilda and the flowers in with my watercolor brush and watercolor pencils.
Stamps: Magnolia, the sentiment stamp is MFT
Paper is K&Company
Buttons and brads are CTMH
CS is CTMH-Sorbet
Ribbon is CTMH
The flowers are from my LSS.
I also used my nesties to make the circles.
Thanks for Looking and have a good day-make sure you are taking something daily in an attempt to avoid getting that darn cold...it really sucks!

Blowing Kisses

This is a card featuring the second WOJ stamp that arrived on friday. I just love these stamps they are so cute and fun to color in and they stamp very crisp and evenly. :o)
I worked on this card for a while-I got the image stamped no problem and the layout done no problem but it just wouldn't balance out so I just kept adding embellishments to it until 11 brads later-it looked good to me! I ended up adding flowers/edge accessories and ribbons!
Paper is from my never ending K&Company stack from costco
I colored in the image with my watercolor pencils and water brush.
Flowers are bazzil
I also used a martha stewart border punch that embosses at the same time.
Brads and ribbon are CTMH.

Brand New WOJ stamp

My brand new WOJ stamps arrived on Friday-yippee! I just love this stamp-I love how her hair falls, I love how she is sitting, I love how she appears to be blowing the steam off her hot coffee, I love her jeans and her warm cozy sweater. :o)
I was enjoying some free time at my LSS this morning and found these cool little charms, I bought a few other styles also, they are a great embellishment alternative to my prima flowers, I love my primas but I only own a few different colors/styles.
I did a little bit distressing with my dauber and chocolate chalk ink-I haven't done that in a while.  I also used my edge distresser a bit.
I colored the image in with my watercolor pencils and water brush.
I made the swirl with my sizzix and quickutz die.
Paper is CTMH Life Delights
Colors: Chocolate/Blush/Lilac Mist and Sweet Leaf.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge #27

Here is my entry for Cute Card Thursday Challenge-Dogs & Cats.
This was a tough one for me...I'm allergic to anything with fur or feathers so dogs and cats aren't my favorite...I know that sounds really bad but sneezing, a runny nose and watering eyes is NO fun! lol
I had to dig pretty deep through my stamp collection but finally found this High Hopes dog stamp that I got from a friend.  He's cute.....I like him a lot!
I also usually don't do masculine cards-so I really challenged myself by not putting ANY flowers on this card! I did it! Yippee!
Paper: CTMH Sarsaparilla
Colors: Barn Red/Desert Sand/Twilight/Black
Buttons/Brads/Charm and Ribbon are CTMH
I colored in the dog with my watercolor pencils and waterbrush.

Sorry I'm late.......

Imade this card for my nan-in law whose birthday I missed.....oops!
I have had this CC design stamp set for a while-since June 2008 and this is the first time I've used it! Don't be surprised if the next few posts feature this cute little turtle or maybe the jumping frog....
I paper pieced the turtle/hat and balloons bc they are all rubber stamps and I suck at positioning anything other than acrylic! lol
I "stickled" the hat and balloon, with star dust and used my nesties to make the circle and scalloped circles.
Paper is CTMH Lazy Days of Summer
Brads and Buttons are CTMH
Colors: Crystal Blue/Garden Green/Lilac Mist
I colored in the images with my watercolor pencils and waterbrush
I also used my stylus and white acrylic paint to detail the turtle's cheeks.

I Miss You

Okay this is the last Magnolia for a bit-I'll try anyways. I just love stamping Tilda-she's so fun to color in!
Colors: CTMH Sorbet/Tulip and Creme Bruelee
Patterned Paper: CTMH A Perfect Day
Flowers: Prima and Bazzil
Brads: CTMH

I made this card for my sister who lives with her family in OK USA. I really miss her and wish she could move back home....:O(
I colored in Tilda with ink from the cover of the stamp pad-not the best way to color in bc the color bleeds a bit but I still haven't found water color pencils to match my tulip/sorbet.

Sittin' Pretty

Here is another card featuring my brand new Magnolia stamp-Tilda.
I ended up doing something completely different from what I first imagined oing with this stamp. My impulse is to find some cherry paper and do a fun red and green card...but I just couldn't find anything paper in my stash like that...and I have a lot of paper! I was going to go down to my LSS but decided I needed to use what I had here!
So I came up with this....all brown. It makes Tilda really pop out.
Paper: K&Company
Flowers: Bazzil
Buttons and ribbon unknown
Cradstock: CTMH Desert Sand
I also left out the sentiment-I'm not sure who I want to give this to and for what-it may be a thank you or a birthday....

Birthday Wishes for Mom

I made this card for my mother for her birthday.
I picked out the paper from a K&Company stack from Michael's. This paper reminds me of my mom-I'm not sure why...
I tried several different watercolor pencils-actually about 10....but i still couldn't find any colors that matched the paper. But CTMH-twilight and juniper did so I colored in Tilda with ink from the stamp pad lid. Her skin turned out better than the last Tilda post but I had trouble with the twilight on her dress-it got kinda mottled.... oh well,
I still like the way she turned out. ;O)
Paper:K&Company
Colors: CTMH Twilight/Juniper
Flowers & Ribbon: unknown
Brads: CTMH

Girl Card for Dutch Dare Challenge #12.....

So I decided to use this card for a challenge I found surfing around blog world today, on the site: The Dutch Dare challenge.
The challenge was to make a girl card. My favorite kind of card! I was going to do a really girly girl pink card but ended up with this. It has flowers-lots of them and pretty girl colors too. :O)

I just received a few more Magnolia stamps in the mail today. :O)
Yippee! I LOVE Tilda-she is so super cute!
I used some patterned paper from my K&Company stack from costco-that stack is NEVER going to run out! Flowers are prima. I colored Tilda in with my watercolor pencils. I had a bit of trouble with her face-I'm hoping once our LSS gets their copics in I can start coloring in faces with them instead bc I can't seem to get the skin right with my pencils. :O(
I made this card a tri-fold just for the fun of it. I plan to mail it to a friend with lots of writing on the inside.

Magical Season

I don't like doing the Christmas thing so early but I just wanted to try this stamp set out.
The paper is CTMH, Evensong. The stamp set is CTMH Magical Season.
Colors are sorbet/new england ivy/olive and cranberry.
I colored in the santa hat with a marker and then his skin I did with a brush dipped in water and the ink from the stamp pads:parchment and vanilla cream. I also used a bit of blush color for his cheeks.
I dusted a bit of doodlebug sugar coating on the beard and the stars.
Brads/ribbon and sparkles are CTMH-I used a punch to make the sorbet flowers.
TFL>
I forgot to tell you that I made this card using a sketch I found on a website. I have tried several times to copy and paste the picture of the sketch but this Mac is really messing me up. So until I can figure that out here is the link for the Site I found it on:
